Melon Head Lab

Completing the melon head lab was an amazing experience for me because i have not had previous experience using photoshop or the tool involved in editing something. What i did was created a face using various fruits and then something creative next to it which were birds and a sun out of a grapefruit. Although i have only used three of the tools in the tool bar, it was fun to experiment with the tools and the different ways to use the tool. it gave me an opportunity to see where I'm standing in terms of my photoshop skills and also to let my creativity shine through even though it wasn't very creative but I'm still proud of my accomplishment. the different types of tool i used was the marquee tool, lasso tool, and magic wand tool. then there were subcategories to the tools like the magnetic lasso tool and the rectangular marquee tool. All these tool allowed me to create the following image. The objective of the lab was for me to learn about the different tools that are used for selecting photos and applying them to an actual photo.

The process of doing this lab for me was to first select each individual tool with a tool that would suit it the best. For the fruits such as the carrot, blueberry, and melon was selected using the marquee tool. For the mushroom and grapefruit I used the lasso tool to select them. Then for the macaroni and radish was selected using the magnetic lasso tool because it had many rigid edges that had to be included. Next after selecting all the fruits i did layer via copy for each fruit and using the move tool i moved the fruits so it would create a face This is relevant in Visible Design because there will be a substantial amount of times where we will have to select a specific part of a photo and edit it. This is practice for us to known when and which tools to use when we select. Like I said before there will be multiple times where these skills while be useful and this is because in the future and even later on this year I will have to use the same tools to select photos.
