Newsletter Project
this is the final project of the year and we had to create a class newsletter. in actuality we had groups and each group had to make their own newsletter and in the end a separate group of chief editors is supposed to create a collaborate newsletter with each groups miniature newsletter. the objective of his lab was to create a class newsletter that incorporates each individual newsletter. my group consisted of three people, including myself, and each person had their specific role. but before this project even began, each group member wrote an article and depending on what we wrote about is how we were divided in groups. anyway my role in this project was to create the ads and my article, it was done but I wanted to improve on it even more. Tenzin, another member of the group, worked on the cover and game section of the newspaper and Jason worked on creating a new article because we had overlapping article about el clasico which we couldn't have. for my part of the project specifically the improvement of my article, I redesigned the layout of the article so it would fit on two pages(one spread) which meant resizing the images and text so it would fit proportionally with the page. the ads had to be done originally so I couldn't just copy off of the internet. therefore I just created a parody of a an ad because it's not plagiarizing, technically. I took a nike( logo and slogan) and the new Samsung ad and just modified them. for the nike ad I changed the logo to some weird check mark and instead of the slogan being " just do it" it turned to "just do it.... tomorrow". the same method was done except there was no logo to change. afterwards each of us combined each part on one computer and turned to the end product shown below.
as far as this project being relevant to Web Design it is actually very important because this newsletter had to be designed for scratch and was designed with by the group and not just copied from the internet. not only that but this project also involved collaboration, so one person had to hold up on his part or else the newsletter would've been incomplete. I see myself using these skills in the future when we are designing our own webpages and no just using a template form the internet.
